Suldalshallen area of Eide

Suldalshallen

Suldalshallen is a multi-purpose arena in the sports complex at Eide, used for training and various sports activities. The arena is close to Sandhallen, Suldal Bad and Campus Rygjatun. Suldalshallen has three training courts for volleyball, as well as a centercourt that runs over the whole hall. Here you will find a well-equipped strength room and newly opened also a gaming room for e-sports and digital activity.

Sandhallen at Sand in Suldal is Norway's first purpose-built sand volleyball arena. The arena was the first of its kind in the country and was built to international standards. It has three lanes, new lighting installed in 2025 and a ceiling height of twelve meters.

The facility has been an important reinforcement of the worship of ToppVolley Norge. In combination with high international coaching expertise, the unique facilities provide a whole volleyball facility for youth. The hall also includes a training room overlooking the beachvolleyball courts.

In addition to the indoor courts, there are also four outdoor courts next to Suldal Bad.

The facility is recommended by the Norwegian Volleyballforbund

Suldal Bad - A place for everyone.

Our nearest neighbor is a modern swimming and activity facility with spectacular views of Sandsfjorden and the surrounding mountains. Here you will find a 25-meter pool, children's pool, slide, climbing wall and diving tower, as well as a wellness area with a therapy pool, a sauna stove and an outdoor bubble bath.

Tea or a latte? You can find it in the café at Suldal Bad.

Eide

Eide is the name of our area. In addition to the facilities mentioned above, there is also a running track, artificial grass court for 9-er football, large grass court, football pitch, disc golf course, exercise park and basketball courts. All within a radius of 100 meters!

From Eide you can take a round trip around Sand. On the road you will find Høsebrua which crosses the mighty Suldallågen, the center of Sand, also called Gatå, with its cozy shops and cafes, the bathing place at Neset in Norenden before ending the route at Eidsvegen which runs along the fjord and back to Rygjatun.

Hikes and nature

When you step out the door at Rygjatun, you step right into magnificent nature. Here everyone can find a hike that suits them. At the top, Hellandsnuten looms, which is worth the effort going up the whole track. At the top, the reward awaits with a view of watch across "the whole world"!

The Kulturhuset offers a cinema, bowling, a rich cultural program, a library and a café. You can find it in the center of Sand, just 15 minutes on foot from Rygjatun.

-or "Gatå" as we say in Sand. A 15-minute walk from Rygjatun, or three minutes by car, and you will reach the beachtown of Sand, which is idyllically located by the Sandsfjord. Here the express boat from Stavanger docks, and you will find what you need:

Ski center

A 20-minute drive takes you to Gullingen and the surrounding area. Here everything is ready for ski tours on groomed trails or you can go on a number of tours on your own.

Breiastøldalen

A one-hour drive takes you during Desember and April to a snow-sure area and varied alpine trails in Røldal or Sauda. In summertime these areas provide several hiking tracks.
